Terms of ServicePrivacy PolicySoftware LicenseContact

Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the JSONJet website, desktop application, downloads, documentation, and related licensing services (collectively, “JSONJet” or the “Services”). “We”, “us”, and “our” refer to the independent developer of JSONJet.

Agreement

By accessing or using the Services, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Services or purchase a license. If you access or use the Services on behalf of a company or other legal entity, you represent that you are authorized to accept these Terms on its behalf. In that case, “you” and “your” refer to that entity.

1. The software

JSONJet is a desktop utility for opening, exploring, inspecting and exporting supported data files. It is designed as a viewer: it does not edit or overwrite the original file you open, and SQL dumps are inspected rather than executed. Export operations create a new output file chosen by you.

2. Free and Pro editions

JSONJet Free is available indefinitely subject to the Free license terms and the limits shown on the Pricing page. JSONJet Pro is a paid annual license that unlocks additional features and commercial-use rights during the active license period. The current features, price, billing interval and device limit are shown on the Pricing page and at checkout.

3. Orders, price and taxes

Purchases are made through Creem’s hosted checkout. Creem acts as the merchant of record for eligible transactions and handles payment processing, applicable taxes and transaction documents under its own terms. The price and billing terms presented during checkout are the terms applicable to that order. Do not complete checkout if those terms are not what you expect.

4. Subscription and cancellation

JSONJet Pro is offered on the billing schedule shown at checkout. If the purchase is a recurring subscription, it renews automatically at the displayed interval unless cancelled before the next renewal. You can cancel through the customer portal linked from your order or confirmation email. Cancellation stops future renewals; access generally continues until the end of the current paid period.

Except where required by applicable law or where a payment correction is necessary, subscription fees already paid for the current period are not refunded, in whole or in part, solely because you cancel or do not use the Services. This does not limit any mandatory rights or remedies that apply to you.

5. Acceptable use

You may use JSONJet only for lawful purposes. You must not share or resell a Pro license beyond its permitted scope, bypass the license system, abuse the licensing service, or use the website or software to infringe another person’s rights. Nothing in these Terms removes rights that cannot lawfully be restricted.

6. Intellectual property and third-party components

JSONJet’s name, branding, original code, website design and documentation are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws and remain with their respective rights holders. A purchase grants a license to use the software; it does not transfer ownership. Some components may be supplied under separate open-source licenses, which continue to apply to those components. Relevant notices must be followed where applicable.

7. Updates, changes and availability

We may release updates, change features, or discontinue a service where reasonably necessary. We do not guarantee that every feature will remain available indefinitely or that all future updates will be compatible with every environment. We will not use this clause to remove rights that have already accrued or mandatory consumer protections.

8. Warranty and liability

To the extent permitted by law, JSONJet is provided “as available” and without a promise that it will be uninterrupted, error-free for every file, or suitable for a particular purpose. You are responsible for maintaining backups and verifying important outputs. Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties, remedies or liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from use of the software.

9. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or disable a license where there is reasonable evidence of fraud, an invalid or shared key outside the license scope, a payment reversal, abuse of the licensing service or a material breach of these Terms. We will act proportionately and subject to applicable law. If a license expires or is disabled, Pro features may stop being available while Free functionality may remain available.

10. Consumer rights and severability

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any consumer rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited under applicable law. If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The revised version will be published on this page. Changes apply from publication unless applicable law requires otherwise. Your continued use of the Services after a change takes effect indicates acceptance of the revised Terms, to the extent permitted by law.

Privacy Policy

1. File contents are processed locally

JSONJet processes the supported files you open on your computer. The application does not upload the contents of those files to JSONJet servers for viewing, search, analysis or export. JSONJet does not edit your original files; exports create new files at the location you choose. SQL dumps are inspected, not executed.

2. No in-app telemetry or advertising analytics

JSONJet is not designed to collect in-app usage telemetry, build advertising profiles, or send opened file contents to us. This does not mean the application never uses a network connection. Depending on your actions and settings, it may connect to check for updates, retrieve public product/pricing information, activate or verify a license, or open a payment/download link.

3. Website and license-service logs

When you visit the website or contact the license server, the hosting provider and server may process ordinary request metadata such as IP address, date/time, requested path, browser or client information, response status and rate-limit/security records. These records support service operation, troubleshooting and abuse prevention. License keys should not be included in diagnostic logs.

4. Payments

Creem provides hosted checkout and handles payment and order information under its own privacy terms. It may process contact details, transaction information, billing data and payment details required to complete purchases, deliver receipts, administer subscriptions and comply with legal obligations. JSONJet does not receive or store full payment-card details. Please review Creem’s privacy policy before paying.

5. External services

The website links to GitHub for source code, releases and downloads, Creem for payment and license-related workflows, and Ko-fi for optional development support. These services process data under their own privacy notices when you interact with them. We do not control their independent privacy practices.

6. Website storage and cookies

The website uses browser local storage to remember your light/dark theme and may cache public product configuration to reduce repeat requests. The website is designed without advertising trackers or third-party analytics scripts. The hosting provider may maintain standard server logs.

7. Retention and contact

Technical records handled directly by us are retained only as reasonably necessary for operations, security, troubleshooting and legal obligations. We use reasonable safeguards but cannot guarantee absolute security over the internet. For privacy questions about data handled directly by JSONJet, contact support@muchad.com. Transaction records held by Creem may need to be requested from Creem.

Software License Agreement

1. License grant

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to install and use JSONJet according to the edition you use. The software is licensed, not sold. All rights not expressly granted are reserved, subject to applicable law and the licenses of third-party components.

2. JSONJet Free

Free is for personal and non-commercial use and is subject to the feature limits shown on the Pricing page. Non-commercial use means use not primarily connected to paid work, business operations or commercial advantage. Pro is required for commercial use unless we expressly agree otherwise in writing.

3. JSONJet Pro

A valid Pro license enables the Pro features and commercial-use rights during the active paid term. One license may be activated on up to two devices. You can deactivate a device to free an activation for another one, subject to successful communication with the license server. Do not share a key publicly, resell it, or use it to exceed the activation limit.

4. License verification and offline use

JSONJet stores license credentials in the operating system’s secure credential storage where supported. The application may validate a license periodically and when you request a manual check. Normal file viewing works offline. If a scheduled verification cannot reach the server, a limited grace period applies; after that, Pro features may be paused until verification succeeds. A license confirmed as expired or disabled may no longer unlock Pro.

5. Your files and responsibilities

You retain your rights in the files you open and outputs you create. JSONJet does not claim ownership of your data. You are responsible for access permissions, backups and decisions based on results. Because JSONJet is a viewer, confirm that exported copies contain the results you need before relying on them.

6. Restrictions and termination

Except to the extent applicable law permits otherwise, do not circumvent licensing controls, resell or sublicense a license outside its permitted scope, or remove proprietary notices. Pro may become unavailable when the license expires, is disabled, or cannot be verified after the stated grace period. Free functionality remains subject to the Free license terms.

7. Open-source components

Third-party components included with JSONJet may be governed by separate open-source licenses. Those licenses continue to apply to their respective components. Applicable notices should accompany the software release or be made available in the project repository where required.
